What is maximum of numbered baskets?

Probably a dumb question, but I noticed my basket numbers are getting up there. What is the maximum number of digits a basket number can have? Is there a way to recycle the basket number to start at zero again? Is there any need for me to be concerned about it?

Do you mean the number that ultimately turns into an order number if the customer checks out? Those are perpetually increasing; there is not currently a built in way to have the store start over at order #1, but in theory if you were to delete ALL orders and all baskets, we could make some behind the scenes changes to start over from scratch. It could get confusing if a customer called in about a specific order though if another using the same number had occurred.

I guess I am talking about the basket number that ultimately turns into an order number. I just know I have so many wasted basket numbers I am continually deleting as expired and just wondered high many digits these numbers can expand to before the store runs into a problem and runs out of basket numbers.

if i remember correctly, its a 19 digit number so...probably unlikely to run out.

The order number is stored numerically as a type INT in MySQL which has a maximum value of 2,147,483,647. I'd have to check with our developers to see if any harm would come from changing the field to be an unsigned INT, in which case the maximum value would become 4294967295 as it would no longer reserve a digit to indicate positive or negative.
