Datacomp M.O.M and the MIVA SDK

We unfortunately got suckered into using Datacomp M.O.M for our order processing management. At this time M.O.M is not push the status of the order or tracking number for confirmation.

    Datacomp M.O.M are saying

"The MIVA SDK ( Software Development Kit) provided to us does not allow us to push any other order status that PROCESSING. MIVA would have to make a change on their end to allow us to make a modification to upload SHIPPED ( or any other ) Status."

Is that true or a load of BS like much of there sales pitch.

That is simply silly as Shipworks, ShipStation, StoneEdge and 4PSite all do it without an issue.

If you can get someone there to reach out to me, I'll happily point them in the right direction.

      Thanks Rick,

Also got this response from Miva's Philip Hansen, Strategy & Solutions Manager

      "Hi Stephen,

Status codes are not passed back and forth, but rather a reflection of the data that Miva Merchant contains (i.e. if you create a shipment and mark it as shipped, the status changes to 'shipped'). To quickly address your question; yes, Miva Merchant fully supports the ability to move order data like tracking numbers and marking a shipment as shipped. This is currently in place with many other 3rd party integrations and I've seen the documentation myself. We also routinely integrate tracking number updates etc. through the XML layer, which has slightly less capability than the full API (it can't trigger payments).

Here is the documentation that outlines our API capabilities: www.mivamerchant.com/apiguide

Since the LSK doesn't really contain any external integrations with ERPs or shipping systems (StoneEdge, Shipworks, MOM etc.), this functionality would not be intuitive if just looking in the existing source code.

I have some other insight I'm happy to share with you, but would rather put it in an email. Give me a ring when you get a chance or let me know a good time to reach out.

      Best,

      -Philip"

I wish Datacomp M.O.M would do some basic research, with in minutes Miva responded, to let me know that Datacomp M.O.M was not telling me the truth again.

Hi Stephen -- I've written several MOM export modules that include additional data in the export. You're welcome to drop me a line by email, so we can discuss a solution for you.

          HI Kent

Thanks for the reply, If datacomp Miva Multichannel Order Manager (M.O.M) don't get on the ball I will have to look in to 3rd party solutions. Assuming we don't cut lost and go with Stone edge.

Re: Datacomp M.O.M and the MIVA SDK

What are the steps to integrate MOM & Miva? My client currently uses MOM & SiteLink, but they have designed a new site and we are moving them away from SiteLink.

            Thanks,

Re: Datacomp M.O.M and the MIVA SDK

Contact Dydacomp for their Miva module. It's a free module from them and it connects MOM with Miva.

Let me know if you need a contact at MOM?

Thanks, I downloaded their module for Miva5 ( updated a month ago ) from their MOM 'Utilities' section and will use that.
