Google Analytics not tracking ALL transactions

We were using the KSE analytics, and we're going to be phasing it out.

So I set up the Miva Google Analytics module with a different GA Property as to not interfere with the current one.

After the first half day, it tracked 6 transactions and listed the revenue.

I checked the orders in Miva Admin and found 7 transactions for that half day and the revenue did not match Google Analytics.

Then, I checked to see if the customers had accounts, and sure enough, one customer didn't. If I excluded that order, then I saw 6 transactions (which matches GA) with a revenue total that also matched GA.

I found a little bit of information stating that people using Express checkout or Paypal might not get captured.

Is that actually the case concerning the Miva Google Analytics Module?

How can I make sure that all revenue is captured, including orders purchased using Express Checkout.

    TIA for any help.

Re: Google Analytics not tracking ALL transactions

Sorry for the possible hijack... along this line but different, we are experiencing that the Miva version is only counting the base price and not the sum of the attribute add-on prices when posting individual product sales. Our spa covers are heavily attributed and every single one comes through as the base price in GA. Not sure if it's on the bug list or if it's something we did wrong when implementing it.

      Jesse,

Correct, certain payment methods are one of the most common causes for a give transaction not being reported in Analytics and this applies to any analytics integration, not just KSE vs. stock Miva Merchant. (PayPal Payments Standard being a biggie, with no solution or workaround) There are other potential causes, but that would be a good first step in your diagnosis.

      Jason,

I had actually coded a good amount of logic into the KSE Analytics module to account for this. I don't think Miva Merchant implemented something similar in their solution, however the templating/resources should be there to make it happen. Unfortunately I have not had the time to sit down and work that out.

Dan - your KSE code worked perfectly. It's not horrible for us so we've never switched from the stock Miva GA code, but it would be nice to see update at some point in the future.
