    Multiple google analytics tracking codes

    Hi all,
I am new to the whole webmaster scene and I am in need of some guidance on this one. I work for a company that just updated the website using Miva Mechant and we are owned by a parent company. Right now the parent company is holding our google analytics information. They submit "reports" to us but this is useless to me. For SEO purposes, I need to be able to use the tracking tools provided by google to optimize our site. I was thinking of creating our own analytics account and tieing that into the website so I may get the same tracking information that corporate gets. I have read this is possible but I do not see how to implient this in Miva Merchant. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you,
    Rudy

Installing Google Analytics in a Miva store is very easy. You can read about it in our official reference guide here:

The relevant information begins at the bottom of page 395.

Rick pointed out to me that you could actually be asking about the possibility of using multiple Analytics profiles to read information from a single site (that's what I get for not reading the thread's subject).

Some brief googling reveals this on the topic: https://support.google.com/analytics.../1032400?hl=en

So it looks like you'd want to use Universal Analytics and can duplicate it with each profile's UA number. Brennan has written a short guide on how to upgrade to Universal Analytics found here: http://extranet.mivamerchant.com/for...Analytics-Code

        KNewbrough,

Rick is correct, I am looking to use multiple UA numbers to allow my company as well as our corporate office to track the google analytics. I will take a look at Brennan's guide and post back to let you know if that helps. Thank you for your reply!

          Hi KNewbrough,

I was able to get multiple google analytic codes running on the same website. Thank you for that link to Brennan's guide, that was the trick! Thank you for all your help.
