Hello all,
The light bulb has not gone off yet.
We sell sets of product - say a table and 4 chairs.
I want to create a kit that has a table and the 4 chairs
I want the price to be the sum of the parts less a discount (if possible)
I want to SEE the PRICE of the kit on the customer facing site before I add it to basket.
On the order invoice and shipping docs I would like to see line items like
KIT $2000
----Table Qty 1
-----Chair 1 Qty 2
-----Chair 2 QTy 2
When Shipping it becomes easier to check whether we have all the parts on the pallet.
If an item is back ordered - it is easy to identify the orders with back ordered sub items (and what those items are)
I have tried this with the Default Variant - but I cannot get the price to come up as the sum of parts (it is zero)
I have tried it with variants but cannot get the hang of it and the price is still 0
Is it possible to do what I am postulating?
If so - what am I missing?
The sample with the computer uses a fake master price. I want the price to be related to the components so that I dont have to go check all the kits when we have a small price change.
FINALLY - is it possible to allow customers to choose the number of chairs (like I could have a quantity of 3 chairs if I wanted)?
I feel I am close - but missing something in the process steps.
Thanks
Sam
