template data feed and variants

If I have 3 sizes of a tshirt for different prices

a) How do I get the default variant price to show up in the catgeory list (category page)?
b) When I do a template data feed - it shows the price of the parent - which at this time is 0
SHould I be doing the template data feed for only the inactive items in the category?

Checkout the %item_group_id% token here:

It will display all variant products if they exist.

Typically variant product are not displayed on category pages because they are non-active products. If you made them active and assigned them to the page they would display.
