It's in your global footer and can be removed from there. It's added by the 5.5 update.

Here's a tutorial on this issue:

I was truly shocked when I noticed it the first time - no notice, no authorization. If the software was free, or a free trial, or even if during the upgrade it asked for authorization, I could understand it. But just shoving a marketing link into the global footer and letting people find out only when they go to their site makes me disappointed in Miva Merchant management.

        Chuck,

With all due respect we released a major upgrade for free to all current 5 customers, put the notice in the release notes, included it in the public beta and made it simple to remove.

Re: Whats This "Ecommerce Shopping Cart Software by Miva Merchant"

I appreciate why Miva would think it would be a good idea for it's business - and dont get me wrong I love the platform and tell everyone who asks that I use Miva and the laundry list of things I love about it - BUT - I think it's poor form to place your marketing on my site; making me responsible for turning it off. This is the type of thing I would expect from free ware.

Now if you wanna set it up as a paid affiliate link - then thats a different story ; ) But it should still be turned on by me - not you.

And here's a not so funny story -
So im the designer developer for my store but Ive given my business partner access to upload parts and what not - and that all he really knows how to do (he's in sales ; ) ) well last week he calls me very frantically - turns out he was in adding parts and when prompted to upgrade he innocently hit YES..

And subsequently broke the entire store. It took me another hour to dig up all the emails that I had set aside for when I was ready to upgrade understand what had broke and why - then fix it - send out emails to some mod developers for unrealeased patches...yadda yadda yadda

          any way -

Thanks for the help everyone - happy selling

          Andy
