You are looking at the MSlscb flat file export. This file is used by the merchant to help maintain MSlscb info for his products. It is not the file that gets sent to Microsoft.

The datafeed file sent to Microsoft is always called cashback.txt and can be found in the stores export directory. It has 18 columns and does have column headers. This file is generated when you click on the Publish button on the MSlscb tab of the System Extensions page.

          me again, got this email...

"I’m thinking to put in your landing url between the ‘http://zillerelectric.com/mm5/mercha...&Product_Code=’ and the ‘&Category_Code=&mslscb=yes
          For example:

For Product: Tiny Tach Hourmeter & Tachometer
          Original Product URL: http://zillerelectric.com/Guardian_Parts/Tiny_Tach.html
          NEW PRODUCT URL: http://zillerelectric.com/mm5/mercha...&Product_Code=Tiny_Tach&Category_Code=&mslscb=yes

For Product:Guardian Generator Air Cooled Maintenance Kit 0E1126ESRV
          Original Product URL: http://zillerelectric.com/Guardian_Parts/Guardian_Air_Cooled_Maintenace_Kit_0E1126ESRV.html

          Original Product URL: http://zillerelectric.com/Guardian_Parts/Guardian_Oil_Filter_10PACK.html
          NEW PRODUCT URL:http://zillerelectric.com/mm5/mercha...&Product_Code=Guardian_Oil_Filter_10PACK&Category_Code=&mslscb=yes

What happened above, is the blue colored parts of the original product url, were entered between the ‘http://zillerelectric.com/mm5/mercha...&Product_Code=’ and the ‘&Category_Code=&mslscb=yes’ – be sure there are no extra spaces – otherwise, the link will not work properly."

what exactly am i supposed to do here? i'm kind of confused.

does cashback not work with shortlinks or something?

does cashback not work with shortlinks or something?
There does seem to be a conflict between the SEO shortlinks and cashback. We will be releasing a solution to the conflict in our upcoming update to the cashback module. So far the known problems are:

            1. Timeouts when doing a publish with a large product list.
            2. Conflict with SEO short links.

This update is top priority and will essentially be released as soon as we can satisfactorily resolve the timeouts issue. A work around for the short links issue is to manually modify your cashback.txt file and FTP it to Microsoft. The cashback.txt file can be found in your store's export folder.

The product URL's need to look like the following (using the above URL as an example)

            http://zillerelectric.com/mm5/mercha...ach&mslscb=yes

Unfortunately I cannot help being confused by this whole process. For starters half way through the setup process at the MS Cashback site I had to leave, now I don't remember how to get back to it. Can someone please provide me a link?

Second, we have over 15,000 different products, none with; Manufacturer Code, Manufacturer Part Number, UPC Code and ISBN Code. Can we use our product code instead?

If you need to sign up for the program the correct link is here:

                  http://www.mivamerchant.com/cashback/signup.mvc

If you have 15,000+ products you are definitely going to want to export your products, modify the resulting file, and then import the modified file.

I don't know what you're selling but here is some guidance on the fields that you mention. These fields are used to help buyers find your store when they are looking for a particular product.

Manufacturer Code - this field is required. For example if you are selling watches, then you would want to put Timex in this field for any Timex watches you have for sale.

Manufacturer Part Number - this field is not required. To follow on with the example, you would put the Timex model number here to help buyers who were looking for a particular watch model to find your store.

UPC Code - this field is also optional. If you don't have one no need to put it, but if you do it might help more buyers find your store.

ISBN Code - another optional field, except on books. It is really only useful for books and certain other types of media products.

                  Hope this answer is helpful.

Thanks Mark. As to the account issue, I had already created an account, I just was not able to complete all the setup process. How do I get to the Microsoft Cashback Sign In screen so I can complete the setup process?

                          Re: microsoft live search cashback

I have been approved for MLS Cashback program and have installed the module, put the Merchant ID, the FTP address, username and password as per the instructions. I then assigned products and published them for the test. Chris (Microsoft Rep) wrote to tell me

"The order did not track. You will probably want to contact Miva support to see if they can assist you. I have attached a copy of the source from the confirmation page for your review."

Prior to contacting MIVA I asked Chris what he meant by 'the order did not track'. Following is his response:

"In order for the cashback program to work, the confirmation page must send back the order information, using the merchant ID you were given in the first email, to cashback. This is linked to the username of the consumer using the cashback program. The page did not appear to have any code resembling this tracking pixel." Microsoft Rep

I tried to call support (I am a Support Club Member) and was told that I had to ask my question in this forum, which meant that I had to register and wait for confirmation before using the forum...not good! Anyway, what must I do to get the program working?

As a side note, I have assigned more than 10 products. Also, I use the Google Checkout exclusively as my payment method in my store. If you want to visit the store it is here:

I just finished getting all the major functional changes to work. There are now 3 things left to do.

                            1. A minor cosmetic change that I need some input from Microsoft to implement.

                            2. Build the streaming update files.

                            3. Run it through a complete test cycle to prevent any new bugs sneaking in.

I expect to have this ready to go on Monday.

The good news is that we got our clarification from Microsoft. The bad news is that a few bugs were uncovered during testing. Those bugs have been fixed. So now I must rebuild the streaming update, do another test cycle and we should be ready to go.

Once I have updated the release notes I will post them here so that you will know what is being updated for this release. One big fix is the problem with some orders not tracking properly.
