Core-17 Streaming Update has been released.

It's available through the MM5 Streaming Update system.


Release Notes:

Admin

Number Based Sort

• Reworked the Number Based Sort feature.
• Improved the way Number Based Sort resolves conflicts. Removed validation of duplicate entries.
• Hitting the Enter key on any box now works the same way as the Update button.
• Hitting the Tab and Shift-Tab keys on any Number Based Sort box should now cycle to the Next/Previous Order box.
• Added the Number Based Sort feature to Product Attributes and Options.
• Added the Number Based Sort feature to Related Products.

Statistics

• Best Sellers should now sort properly based on the number sold counter.

Products/Categories

• Added a new tab to Edit Product screen - Categories.
• This tab allows you to assign this product to multiple categories at once.

Product/Category META tag improvements.

• A new tab has been added to Edit Store - META Tag Settings.
• These settings give you the ability to add custom Product/Category META tags. You could then change the contents value for those tags in your Product/Category META settings.

Other

• The Category Tree item is no longer added twice when a new store is created.
• Category Tree Header & Footer no longer installs the cattree item twice.
• Added Product/Category/Customer Custom Fields to provisioning.

Runtime

• Fixed a bug with payment modules that go offsite, place an order and don't come back; causing the inventory to be improperly refunded when store owners delete expired shopping carts.
• Order Minimums no longer take Basket Charges into account to meet the minimum required amount.
• Product List Layout component should properly terminate td's and tr's when generating multiple columns in expanded mode.
• Added a new option in Edit Store >> Customer Fields settings - Primary Address. This option controls whether the Shipping or Billing Customer Fields are shown first in runtime.

Storemorph:

• Textarea fields are now stretched to fit the entire size of your window.
• You can now use the Tab key inside the Storemorph Textarea fields to format your code.

New Payment modules

• Amazon Simple Pay.
• Checkout by Amazon.

AuthorizeNet

• AuthorizeNet no longer uses a commerce library for transaction processing.
• Fixed a bug where some unencoded data caused errors if a customer entered a comma into any of the Ship To/Bill To fields.
• Added a new payment field to Edit Order screen, Transaction Status. This field describes the transaction as Authorized or Authorized & Captured.

Google Checkout

• Fixed an issue where free shipping coupons were not handled properly.
• Stripped special characters from the Shipping Name as they caused Google Checkout to intermittently drop the Shipping Method List.
• Added a help link for Integrating with Google Analytics.

LinkPoint

• The Product Description that gets passed to LinkPoint Gateway is now limited to 120 characters.

PayPal Website Payments Standard

• Added a new option that controls prompting shoppers for a Shipping Address (on PayPal side).

PayFlow Pro

• Fixed a bug where the request_id field (required for communicating with the gateway) was not always unique which caused Order Processing errors.
• Added code to verify that the credit card type is properly reported in the Admin interface if the user selects one card type, but enters another.

Shipping

• U.S.P.S. Online Rate Calculation
• Added two new Shipping Methods. USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope and USPS Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box.

Import/Export

• Import Categories from Flat File
• Added Custom Fields support for Categories.

Export Categories to Flat File

• Added Custom Fields support for Categories.

Import Products From Flat File

• Added Custom Fields support for Categories.
• Fixed a bug where Boolean fields were not properly accepting valid values.

Sales Tax

European VAT

• Added a new field - NonTax Description. This field controls the "Tax free delivery outside EU" text.

Other

Microsoft Live Search

• Changed the initial module setup to provide more status and instructions, especially for installing the template changes when the automatic install doesn't work correctly.
• The module now tracks when changes are made that (might) affect the published data feed. When there are such changes, notifications are displayed in several places in the admin until the next publish is done.
• When publishing the data feed, skip products with a price of zero. At the end give a count of those products skipped.
• Modified the handling of the Image URL field in the publish file as follows:
• If there is no full size image, use the thumbnail.
• If there is also no thumbnail leave the field empty.
• If there is an image that starts with http:// or https:// do not prepend the base_url.

Custom Fields

• Added support for Custom Category Fields.
• Product Field Values now support more than 254 characters. Text larger than 254 characters is now stored in value_long field.
• Customer Field Values now support more than 254 characters. Text larger than 254 characters is now stored in value_long field.

Developer Notes

• If DB_Type_Char function receives a value higher than 254, it automatically converts the field to MEMO type.
• Fixed a bug that prevented popup errors containing single quotes from being displayed.
• Altered the Custom Product Field Values indexes to be unique.
• Altered the Custom Customer Field Values indexes to be unique.

Darn Checkout By Amazon accepts only US registrations... Anyone knows when they are going to extend it to the rest of the world ?

Mind you same with Google Checkout :-(

Quick question, we're getting this error when an order is placed instead of getting an invoice page:

EDIT: We have disabled the ADS customer & merchant email notifications and this seems to have fixed the problem.

Now however we have discovered PayPal is no longer working:

The contents of your basket have changed during the checkout process. As a security precaution you have been returned to the beginning of the checkout process

Custom category fields...very nice.
The wide code fields allowing tabs is great too.
Customers will love the category assignment per product.

The ship to/bill to switching option is nice, as are the additional META tag controls.

Oh and Checkout By Amazon is pretty slick too.

I'm trying to use the new category custom fields.

I've set them up ok and added text to them for a category but can't figure out how to display them.

I don't have them listed as Custom Fields under the Category Product List Layout tabso I can't "check" them to activate them. And at the least I haven't guessed the right way to insert them into the layout.

The patched versions of our effected modules have been uploaded to MivaCentral and STLADS, so you can now download the latest versions. Thank goodness I did this update on my test store first.

I am getting the following error when I update. What does this mean?

Miva Merchant: Upgrade: Error

Miva Merchant encountered a fatal error during upgrade. The upgrade process has been aborted. Error Code: MER-UTL-CST-00056 Description: mysql_execute: Duplicate entry '772-1' for key 1

Also in my front end when i browse a product screen now I get this error

Runtime error in lib/db.mvc @ [00000080:00000094]: lib/dbeng/runtime.mv: Line 247: MvOPENVIEW: mysql_stmt_prepare: Unknown column 'rlp.disp_order' in 'order clause'

look and feel of the prod screen is broken, though the page does load. i see the text but the header and css is broken. Looking at the view source on the page, the error is being output before the html code. This is causing the broken gui...


I then attempted the update a second time and get this error:

Any further attempts at automatic update results is the same Catfields error.

What should I do now?

my ctgy, basket, and other screens i've made look fine. i haven't throughly tested yet to see what else is broken. But this is enought to make me wait and see what you tell me to do.

You got the same error I got. Unfortunitely mine is production. Call the Miva support and they will fix the issue. However, I am still waiting for them to fix the second half of my problem.

To avoid future panic, how do you set up a test environment? Can it be done on a personal computer -desktop?

For my test environment. I had hostasaurus copy my store to a duplicate website but gave it a different domain name like test.mystore.com
and i put an htaccess required log in to keep bots and people out of it.
that way it won't get indexed into google or the search engines.

i do all my testing there for building new storemorph templates or for installing modules and the like. It does cost for hosting, but only the minimum for hosting becuase no traffic goes to it. IT's way cheaper than having my store broken. I know that in the past it takes more time to recover from having a broken store than just the time it was broken. About 4 years ago, my store was offline for about 2 days.. it took over 2 months to get traffic back to the level it was the day before it broke. It's worth it to me to preserve the live store.

And for peace of mind.. it sure is a great thing. I screwed up too many times in the past.. and since this most accurately duplicates my live store (since the only thing different is the domain name) i can be sure any changes i make are exactly what will happen on my live site.

Back in the days when I used miva merchant 4.x and tried to test on Miva Mia, sometimes it was not exactly like what would happen when i put stuff on to the live server using empressa. I don't have to worry about that anymore.

We can fix that error very quickly it has to do with duplicate records in your custom fields database.

i'm looking at the s01_CFM_CustValues table.
I do see a lot of multiple field_id and cust_id
where cust_id = zero. For example field_id=11 has about 30 cust_id = 0

For the rest of the records there is only a field_id (that matches each definied custom field) for each cust_id. Since I have 5 defined fields, there are 5 rows for each cust_id. Where cust_id >0

Were those created by customer's checking out without created an account or not completing checkout?

Should i delete those records where cust_id=0, or do i need to keep at least 1 cust_id=0 for each field_id?
