Remove Quantity Field From Product Page

can anyone advise me if it is possible, and how, to remove the Quantity field from the product page. We make our multiple products avsailable via attributes and the Quantity field confuses some of our customers

go to pages and edit product display page then go to product display layout tab and look for quantity text box change the type="text" to type="hidden".
