    I noticed this in Emporiums release notes

    5) Product field SKU added to the primary products database. This is a moderate change but if you plan to use that SKU field, you will need to upgrade 3rd party modules that you want to also use that field. Many stores which needed an SKU have already been using a custom product field for that and will not do the extra work needed to pull the data from the custom field and insert into the native product SKU field.

    My question is now that we filled our "Custom Field" named SKU with hundreds of entries, is there a way to move the data over or should we just continue with the "Custom Field" or should we just leave it alone at this point?

      You would need to export the product code and custom data field value from SKU to a flat file. Then using the product import update the product records with that value, this time importing the data into the native SKU field. Then on the PROD page template (and any others you use it on), you would need to change the reference from the custom field to the native product:sku field.

        I have read that the upgrade will incoporate a automatic check before it will install of modules from what I have read ,We have had the same concerns too and asked Rick and he had said it built into the update to look for modules needed to update,I also did as too though about what or a version needs to be for all the modules and understood he was working on that ,not sure if that helps or eases you but we to have had the same concern and asked too

            Well Feature Upgrade 5 should prevent you from installing if any of your modules are incompatible.

              When doing a phone order via Manage Orders>New Order, is there a way to redeem coupon/gift certificate?

              I clicked the "Order Fulfillment Modules" link and clicked the "process" check box next to the order fulfillment feature, but nothing happened. Am I missing a step?

                Ken,

                When doing a phone order, you can use a coupon by editing the basket charge. As for being able to actually use a Gift Certificate (where it would adjust their balance), the module developers would need to add support for that in their Gift Cert module.

                The Order Fulfillment Module process is for sending out your order emails, is that what you were expecting?

                  Thank you for the clarification about how to handle the coupon when doing a phone order. I've been using Viking Coder's 4.24 phone order manager for over 5 years now, so it's going to take a little while to get used to the awesomeness of Wombat.

                  What I was expecting after clicking on one of the Order Fulfillment Modules is a field to appear where I could enter the coupon code and/ or gift certificate code.

                  If one of the third party developers were to create a plug-in for the new phone order system, it would be nice to either have a "enter coupon" field either on the main page or way to call the feature via a link.

                    The fulfillment modules (when properly categorized) are typically meant to be an action called upon receiving the Invoice screen in the shopping side.

                    Since Phone Orders have no Invoice screen we made them so you could manually trigger them anytime (which also adds the convenience to resend emails).

                      Is any main issues that are coming up for much ,our store is pretty much out of the box with a few modules that we guess will find out if are the latest update when try to download update,wondering when there will be complete support for the upgrade incase the store breaks if it downloads with out needing a module update so far we seem to have the latest on the few modules we do have. Just waiting until we have time to make any repairs to anything incase our working store decides to have a problem

                        We're close to 300 upgrades so far today and no major issues, or stores going down that we're aware of.

                          Good ,just had one friend using it said he had a problem but got it fixed fairly quick with the order fullfilment settings, there set up a lot like mine and that was about it Hostasaurus helped him on the issue ,so guess will give a try soon and see how it goes

                            well that went fine not even the need for a module update just installed and now have a few good extra options that we have been waiting for to get set up better .you can chalk up one more update with out an issue as far as we can tell so far everything works fine ,will test a few features and look at some tutorials on some more of the features and make sure all is fine

                              Hi Rick,

                              We have a few modules in our store (gotta love those add ons!). Anyway, some of them are automatically installed with Miva and others we installed but now we don't use. The update utility for wombat is requesting we do the update for these modules. Is this something we should do or should we remove the module or make it inactive before we proceed?

                                The ones you're not going to use any longer can just be ignored if you're only getting the Yellow warning symbol and you'd need to remove or update if you're getting the Stop sign Fail message.
