    Re: Wombat Beta - Feedback

Now, that's better. MUCH better! I didn't see how to change the status of the orders, but I assume that's in there. I wasn't expecting the integrated UPS stuff, but that's certainly helpful!
Oooh, and a picklist! That's a nice touch!
    Wow. This is MUCH needed!!

Sorry, we can't find "store.yellowtee". We suggest that you check the spelling of the web address or search above.
      Red Flare,

Sorry about that, I should've been paying more attention. Typo corrected below:

        Re: Wombat Beta - Feedback

If I'm using Sebenza Ultimate Order Status - and eventually upgrade to this version of Miva which also has order status and Order History - will there be a conflict there? We're using the ODBC connectivity of this module to work with Fed Ex ship manager. Does this update also support ODBC?
There will be no conflict. At this time it doesn't support ODBC, we'll take a look at that.

the order status changes based upon what you do with the order, it isn't something that you set.

I didn't see how to change the status of the orders, but I assume that's in there.
I would suggest this so you can see the whole process in action:

            1. Setup an account on the shopping side and place a test order
            2. Login to the admin and find that test order
            3. From the batch screen, place a checkmark next to it and click "Create Shipment"
            4. Check your status on the shopping side, you'll see it's gone from Pending to Processing
            5. Go to Manage Shipments, find your Order, it'll be listed as Picking
            6. Place a check mark next to it and click Enter Tracking Number
            7. Check the box "Shipped" put in a Tracking Number and choose a Carrier. You can also put in Cost here if you want to compare Shipping Cost (to you) versus Shipping Collected (from the customer). Hit Save
            8. Go back to the Shopping Interface and check your status, you'll see it's Shipped with a Tracking Number (that links to UPS, etc...)

Same methodology works for authorizing an RMA or Accepting a Return.

There are multiple ways to work through this path, including going into order details, setting up multiple shipments within a single order and if you print the shipping labels from within the order itself it fills in the tracking number and cost for you.

Steps 1 - 8 above provide a good perspective on conceptually how it all works.
            Thanks,

As a hosting provider, may I ask that you please BURY the "Store Encryption" feature. Many times we get people who call to find out why they cannot access their payment info. When we explain to them that they enabled the "Store Encryption" and they need their pass phrase, they are like a deer caught in the headlights.

So can you please either bury this down under "Domain Settings" and/or place a nice big Warning on this page.

                  Rick,

Please add a warning for <noscript> into the manage orders and mange shipments screens so that it tells people "This Feature requires Javascript" If you do NOT see anything below please enable Javascript".

Just a thought some people may or may not know their javascript is disabled or choose to have it turned off.

                    Rick,

One more suggestion/question. On the Generate/View/Print Shipping label link if selected the GIF format the filename APPEARS to always use the same of shipping_label.gif Is this correct? If so can this please be adjusted so that it includes the order# in the filename so if you wanted to view more than one at a time, archive, save them, etc they would have the order# in the filename.

                    Thanks

                      Rick,

                      Sorry for the multiple posts.

In the customers screen page in the admin will their be a link next to Edit customer or maybe on the Edit Customer screen to "View History" and this would display the order history for that customer?

                      Thanks

I think you guys should revisit how the "New Order" button works. Personally, I think there should be an additional "save" button before it actually creates the order. Otherwise you will probably end up with a bunch of empty orders from misclicks.

You might as well add that on the login screen. There's a lot of stuff (like searching anything) that you can't do if you don't have JavaScript enabled in admin.

There is a Delete Order in the lower left screen of an empty order, plus you can use the Empty Order anytime (it's not like it loses it's usefulness).

Would you still rather have a Save dialogue?

There's no way to switch an existing store to it, you'd have to either A) Add an additional storefront or B) Delete your dev store and then re-add it.

The new stores will be on the CSS UI.

So that would include completely redoing the whole thing. Hmm, Seems like a pain. But if I already have two storefronts, I can delete one and keep the other is this correct?

Yes. We hadn't anticipated people with existing look and feels wanting to throw them out and switch to the CSS UI, it was designed to be the new starting point.
