    Aplus.net Class Action Lawsuit?

    Hello,

I had been an aplus.net customer for nearly seven years, but recently, from what I understand, a number of customers were sold to hostopia. I was told that my account would be "upgraded". As a result of the switch to the new servers, I lost two months of data, my sites were down for nearly a week, and there have been countless other problems, which have resulted in about $15,000 in losses. Aplus.net's response was to offer a three month SSL credit. I didn't have to pay for an SSL certificate with my original hosting plan.

Had aplus.net been honest with me and told me that the sale had occurred and that I might experience problems, have to pay an SSL certificate fee, have inferior hosting, etc, then I likely would have switched hosting companies and avoided this mess. Instead, I was told that it was an upgrade, whereas it clearly isn't. My sites run much more slowly and two of my forums were so overrun with spam that I had to shut them down. This is either incompetence, deception, or both.

I'm now strongly considering starting a class action lawsuit against this company for deceptive practices. If you are an aplus.net customer who has experienced similar business losses and would like more information, please contact me at info at macnichol.com.

    Thank You.

I've submitted a complaint to the BBB, but aplus.net stands by its deceptive practice of referring to the hostopia purchase as an "upgrade".

For anyone considering aplus or hostopia, please stay away from this company.
