Change the number of items displayed per page

Hi,
Is there a way to give a user a pulldown menu and allow them to change the number of items displayed per page? Currently it's controlled from the page admin. Looking at page source, looks like it would require some additional references (offset=X) for additional page pagination.

Category Template Manager by Sebenza Studios allows merchants to create multiple display templates that can then be assigned to categories. I second the motion of the emporium Plus ToolKit module. You can do SOOOO MUUUUCCCHHHH with it (but it does require a bit of work on your part to implement some of the features).

I concur about ToolKit; perhaps I wasn't clear. I'm wanting to vary the number of products displayed on a CTGY page to give a customer the option to display more or less. I thought, after I posted this, that I could just set up another page with all the same attributes, and change the item pagination (then just set up a link to change the page=X).

The emporium plus category manager module allows you to set the number of items shown for each template you create. I have this and I have certain categories that might show 20 products while others show maybe 10.

I think what sbronstad wants is a to allow the visitor to choose the pagination themselves. So there would be a link at the top of the page that says something like:

Show 10 | 25 | 50 | 100 Items Per page

And then the visitor would click on, say, the number 50, and the page would reload with a pagination of 50 items for that category.

At least, that is what I THINK sbronstad wants.

I wonder if we could sweet talk Bill Weiland into updating either the Category manager or the ToolKit module to allow for customers to select pagination... :)

That's it! It would sure beat having to low-tech it with redirects to identical pages with different paginations... What do you say Mr.

My Category Manager does it on the CTGY pages and my Power Search does it on the SRCH pages. There is nothing for the PLST pages.

The tool kit can't do it because it does its work as the page is rendered. All of the modules which retrieve the result set of products do that action before the first line of the page is even rendered. It does it in the initialization step so it knows nothing about items further down in the page template text.
