Update Status to Shipped -- late...

Rick,
I am automatically sending an email when an order gets shipped. Sometimes, the order won't get updated till after the item has been delivered. I would like to put the tracking number in without the notice going out.

Is there any way to do this except for un-assigning the Shipment confirmation email module?

I don't think so, but you shouldn't have any negative impacts from turning that fulfillment module off since it doesn't impact any of the other emails.
