Things I don't like in the latest beta and other questions...

Do we need to have those big ads on the left? Takes up alot of realestate.

Do we need to have the special offers at the bottom? Again - it takes up alot of real estate, and forces scrolling on every screen I have looked at.

Maybe they disapear after looking at them?

Is their a suggested test of the dreamweaver/skins/framework stuff?

    Bill,
The offers on the bottom are only about 80 pixels. Is the frame bigger than that for you or are you using 800 x 600 resolution?

As for the left side, in Beta 2 you should notice it's gone down from 3 to 1 Miva Service promotion.

Since our payment processing is critical to the revival and future of this company, it's a tough balancing act. Since people don't read or listen unless you yell at them and don't like to pay for software, we figured we'd yell for payment processing and that would keep Miva Merchant widely available at a very low cost.

I can assure you we won't fill it with ads and that anything that goes there is critical to the long term success of the company.

As for a way to delete the items on the bottom once you've read them, I'm not sure. I'll see what we can come up with.

As for testing Dreamweaver I would suggest just importing pages, editing them and reimporting them in as close to a real world scenario as plausible.

          Additional....
Move the pages link down by utilities. Everyday users do not edit pages regularly, but likely do add/edit products on a regular basis.

          Put categories below products

If I select export on a page - and update - does it export?
          Where to?
          How is anyone to know?

If I check import on a page - what happens when I update?
          Seems to be nothing happens.
          How do we know?

Make those nice big gold buttons at the top of all the pages (the nav for each section) like 1/2 the size. Your taking up way to much real estate for no purpose that I can see.

It appears - although I did not specifically test - that the skins actually overwrites the pages shown in the listing for the skin. Is this still the case? I thought skins were purely css now?

On a 1024 width screen, I have to scroll right to see the nav at the top of the prod page screen (and others as well). Not good.... again, the amount of realestate your using is to much.

If yours still says the words Skins then you're not using the new beta.

It would say Frameworks now instead.

I'm also hesitant to start moving things on the left side too much (even if it all makes logical sense) because people are used to it being a certain way. However I'm open to feedback on this one...
