Production Release 4

I had to finish some projects before I could get into this.

The main page says Production Release 4 and the forum posting keeps talking about Beta 3.

1. How can I be sure what version I'm running?
2. What is the latest version?
3. Can the .pkg files be opened/unpacked with anything other than Dreamweaver.
