When I import products from flat file, the products import fine. However, when I go to the product I found that the description field was also copied to the meta tag description. That is a disaster if there is html in that description. The top of the page is all messed up since the meta tag description is now "displayed" before the global header. It is not hidden like most metatags.

Follow up to this one. It apparently is not getting added upon import. Instead when you go to the edit product screen, click on the tab for meta tag. It is pre-filled in with the existing product description. Do not save. Instead go to the attribute tab and add an attribute. The process of adding an attribute is filling in the meta tag with the full product description and saving it. This was actually an "undocumented feature". It was supposed to make it easier to pre-fill meta descriptions by copying product's description on Add.
However, I could see why this would cause issues so it will be fixed.Comment
