Streaming update

I just finished running the streaming update on my test site - I was forewarned to be patient, that it would take about 30 minutes (mine took 35). I would suggest a HUGE warning about the update time. I'm going through my site to check for anything "broken" - first thing I noticed was a nice link back to Miva Merchant - Ecommerce Shopping Cart Software by Miva Merchant - great spider food!

I've got to go take a closer look at a couple pages I created - they have broken styles - it could have been something I did wrong.

Okay - figured it out - since the streaming update didn't touch the additional Page screens I had created the

<mvt:item name="html_profile" />

tag didn't get added and the change to old head tag from

<mvt:item name="head" />

to

<mvt:item name="head" param="head_tag" />

had to be manually added.

Going to need a warning if the streaming update can handle additional Pages.

I never noticed that before

Was that explained somewhere? What is the difference? Why the change?

That change was made to combine CSS and the Head Tag Content in the same component. You'll notice the settings for External CSS files have been added to Head Tag Content.

Point me in the direction to make the external CSS file that I just uploaded work - I'm not seeing any reference to it in the head tag at all.

It's designed to work this way with the default framework.
I'll add instructions for how one can use external CSS files with the default framework in the next stream.

Yes, that works very nicely even though I had to add it manually - anyway to get that tag inserted in you upload a file?

The latest version of the stream is up. It addresses this issue as well as reduces the streaming time by 20%.

In my 5.5 beta when I click the button at the bottom left that says "software-up-to-date" it gives me a popup that says there are no new updates.

Alex means to stream from a PR4 store.

I'm totally confused now. I thought the beta testers were supposed to test the stream in their beta 5.5 store. Alex is talking about a stream to update a PR4 to 5.5? How do we update RC1 without deleting everything and starting over? Is there no streaming update for that?

I thought we were not supposed to be testing on a live store.

You're not supposed to be testing on a live store, but the purpose of this stream is to test the process of streaming from PR4 to 5.5.

The idea was for people who had dev stores on PR4 to test the process.
