    Re: Manage Orders Question

While in "Manage Orders" I see a drop down box under "Link" after entering the tracking number. Is there a way (yet) to provide FedEx/UPS tracking links to the end-user resolving to the pre entered tracking number?

Is there any documentaion on Wombat order processing?

      Re: Manage Orders Question

There is a video tutorial of order processing in Wombat for you to watch. If you enter the tracking number and choose the drop down choice for the carrier, then the customer will have the tracking URL when they check their order status online. You almost answered your own question there. :)

RE: There is a video tutorial of order processing in Wombat for you to watch is that the one on Vimeo? If so the question is not answered in the video

RE: If you enter the tracking number and choose the drop down choice for the carrier - How do you tie in the carriers?

RE: then the customer will have the tracking URL when they check their order status online - Where does this happen - is a Wombat feature - and email

          Re: Manage Orders Question

          Mitch,

          1. No not the Vimeo video, probably these: http://extranet.mivamerchant.com/for...d.php?t=100216 it's a sticky in the 5.5 thread.

          2. Go under Domain Settings you'll see a Tracking Links tab.

          3. Under Utilities there's emails you can configure, when you mark an email as shipped it sends the customer an email.
          Thanks,

            Re: Manage Orders Question

I’ve watched the videos but I’m seeing issues that I’m not sure how to resolve within Miva

Re drop shipping – We issue a PO for every shipment – where would we enter the PO number to tie it to the order?

Re Customer Service – customer receives a 200 lb bird cage but the tray is dented. We open a customer serviced ticket w/ the vendor who agrees to send a replacement part. Where would we keep notes of this transaction and where would we store the additional tracking number for the replacement part?

We have questions about the order before we can ship it – where would we keep that history it needs to be visible to remind us to follow up?

The Tuesday after Memorial day we printed 125 labels (FedEx & USPS) Saving them to the desktop (or any folder) and then going back and digging them out one at a time is inefficient – is there anyway to print directly to our Dymo & Zebra printers?

How do you resend tracking info to the customer?

            Thanx

              Re: Manage Orders Question

I think you'll find your solutions in the module store.

Miva is not a customer service management tool, it's primarily an ecommerce tool. It will handle returns, but sending out replacement parts is something I would consider a new order, not an existing one, even if the cost is zero. You may be able to re-open an old order (not sure) once you have shipped it and add more items to the order, and if you're using Orbital Gateway as your payment system, re-authorize a new charge. Otherwise it sounds like you may want some kind of add-on module for more advanced shipping controls or documentation of special data fields.

You have the ability to add more lines to the order (with zero price) and could use that to mark in a PO number, whether as a line item in the order body, or as a line item in EDIT SHIPPING.

I assume there are modules out there for mail manager to have greater control over being able to re-send standard email messages to customers, or to write custom e-mail messages that you can use to communicate other things to your customers. Miva's core application is not likely to have absolutely everything you want, since you're offering a lot more types of service than a basic e-commerce merchant.

You should be able to print the shipping label immediately when it is generated, and send to whatever printer you want. And if support is not built directly into the standard Miva implementation, there are quite a few very good shipping management modules that give a great deal of extra control to this function. Take a look at the list of modules in the MivaMerchant module store and see where you can gain the functions you would like to have. We're pretty lucky to have such a good group of module developers who have written very handy tools for lots of situations that exceed the basics.

                Re: Manage Orders Question

Resending the tracking number was overlooked and will be added in the next release.

Bill Weiland has a module for making notes in the admin on orders and yes you could edit the order later to mark the return and add the replacement item.
                Thanks,

                  Re: Manage Orders Question

I’m looking at 5.5 from 2 views – our new site apetments.com which is for starters 100% drop ship and windycityparrot which is still on the 4.xx platform. Apetments has processed 1 live order, windycityparrot has processed 37,000

To put things in perspective in terms of modules, windycityparrot has more than 130 Miva modules installed. About half are turned off – big learning curve over 7 years. We’re using apetments to prototype the windycityparrot migration. We’re trying to determine what modules will NOT be needed and what functionality will need to be added.

We’re using Shipworks on windycityparrot – Shipworks is adequate but we’re looking at a more robust solution like Stone Edge. We won’t know until we’re up to our elbows in Wombat

I appreciate the advice but sending out replacement parts as new order does not work for us – it’s not a straight line. As I explain to newbie’s, every order has a beginning, a middle and an end. We don’t close an order until the end-user is satisfied with the transaction.

We have orders where we fulfill 10 line items and drop ship from 3 vendors. If we created a new order for every customer service issue, trying to close the “core” order would be like herding cats.

As for printing labels, because we’re drop shipping we don’t need to print any at this time but according to the Lasker’s video, he saved the label to the desk top before printing

@ Rick – I like Bills modules (& he’s very responsive) – will add the notes mod right away

                    Mitch,

Yeah you can revise an order until the customer is happy, so you can accept a return and then add another item to the order, create a new shipment, track the shipment, etc... all from one order.
