    Capture with authorize net

    Hello,

Is there a reason with auth net that it won't allow me to enter a different (less $) amount to capture? It won't let me change the amount at all.

    Thank you.

Contact Authorize.net support - you should be able to change the amount when you click the CAPTURE button, in the pop-up window. If that's not an option on your account, Authorize.net may need to make a change on their end to enable this function.

I am able to do this within auth net. It's just that MM is not giving me the opportunity to change the number. It is grayed out.

I contacted auth net and they said it was MM and not them.

      Any other suggestions?

      Thank you
      Yo.

Yes - for that you'll need to contact Miva directly and request this as a feature update. In the meantime - as you have already figured out - you can do 'capture' for a lesser amount in your Authorize.net system.

          Rick,

Are there plans to allow people using authorize net to capture a smaller $ amount than was authorized?

          Thank you.

            Re: Capture with authorize net

We're in discussions with Auth.net about adding some of their advanced features, including all the new items Wombat supports.

Right now it's just a discussion and there is no timeline and ultimately depends on how things go with Auth.net.

In the meantime have you considered switching to CHASE Paymentech and Orbital? We'll be adding the most advanced features consistently in that gateway, including some very nice fraud tools coming soon, online/offline giftcards, split payment, and customer wallets.

The very best features will be on CHASE.
            Thanks,

              Rick,
I actually got a quote from CHASE last week. They are very competitive. I think I will pursue that route.
              Thank you.

                Rick,
I just spoke with Chase Paymentech and they said they use auth net as the gateway? Is that the same service you are talking about?
                Thank you.

                  Re: Capture with authorize net

Chase is just a reseller for Authorize.net, so if I had to guess, Orbital is just a rebranded Authorize.net system (though I don't have a login to an Orbital account and can't tell for sure, but that's at least the assumption one can make if you visit Chase web site where they promote their preferred Authorize.net partnership and Authorize.net payment gateway).

Rick, or anyone using Orbital - is that system just a Chase-branded Authorize.net account?

                    Re: Capture with authorize net

No, Orbital is their own gateway from the ground up (and the best I've ever seen).

You never want to just cold dial into Chase or Chase Paymentech as it's a HUGE company and the odds of finding someone who knows Miva is low.

We have a corporate account manager for all of our clients and you should contact Richard Otey here at our offices 858-731-4119 to get setup with Chase and Orbital.
                    Thanks,

One more thing, you'll get much better rates going through us versus a Chase bank.
                      Thanks,

                        Thanks for the clarification.

Funny thing you mentioned how difficult it is to find someone there who knows Miva. We just got cold-called by them a few minutes ago, the rep didn't know anything about Miva but knew the payment gateway rather well, and that Miva Merchant would work with it (I'll give him that much credit, most sales people don't know anything about any shopping carts at all). :-]

I will give Richard a call. I've already started the process. I hope it's not too late.
