    Importing Images

    Hi Guys
I am looking to import around 8000 images now I am on MM9 CSSUI

In Miva 5.5 MMUI I could just import / Update Products with flat file via csv with a link to the images etc uploaded via ftp this would also assign a product to that image and imported them in to the legacy images fields.
You could also assign image types and additional images too>

Now on CSSUI I want to move them / re-upload them into the new "images" section moving away from the legacy images way of doing things.

Problem is I just cant find a way to do it without downloading the images I have now on the server then uploading them all ( if it would take 8000 in one go - Not tried ) and then assigning them one by one to each product

Surely there must be an import somewhere

A big task if not !

    Am I missing something ??

    Cheers!

Import/export did not change in mm9, it's just moved to the "Data Management" icon on the home page

      Hi Mark

I found the import / export under Data Management

but the confusing part is that I have 2 image types
      MAIN
      CATIMG

but when I have gone to " Import Settings " to get a csv template to add products from csv
      I cant see the columns " IMAGE_TYPE:_MAIN " IMAGE_TYPE:_CATIMG "
      that I was expecting

      I can see IMAGE_URL & THUMBNAIL_URL

can I just add the columns in my spreadsheet ?

      Cheers again

Sounds like your moving to CSSUI? So now I'm on the same page.. It sounds like you first need to turn on the image custom fields module (I don't think it's on by default) then create the image types of you choosing. Once done you will see them available for image import. You may also need to assign them to the CTGY and PROD pages as well as adjust the template code.

            Hi Mark

that maybe the bit I was missing

            I have just installed it

do I then need to assign it under items on the CTGY & PROD pages ?

I am using a new readytheme so would there be any code to add also ?

            cheers!

You don't need to assign the module to anything... I was referring to the PROD display layout assignment of custom fields to have them actually display on the page. (I think ready themes is set up to use image type main already)

Not honestly sure on the rest because I haven't played enough with ready themes yet but you should see the ability to import export now

                Hi Mark
You have been a great help
                thank you
I can move on without the thought of having to add images one by one

                Cheers!

Ridgewood - I just worked through the same issue a few days ago...You have to install the module "Product Image Custom Fields" it is not installed by default or with the ready theme. One it is installed you can do a product export in Miva 9 and it will show you the field name of that custom image field in the template.

(Edit) I should make that a little clearer: When you go to do the product export, you will see the custom "image types" in the custom field selection. Choose them and they will be exported.
