display prompt under swatch thumbnail

Is there a way to display the 'swatch-drop-down-list' prompt under each swatch thumbnail.

Yes but it has to be done through JavaScript. On the PROD page, in the Tab section for Attribute Machine you will see a Head Template which contains the function Generate_Swatch

This is what writes the swatch to the page.
