I'm sure this is silly question about Miva 9, I'm stumped and can't find an answer. When a shopping cart exceeds 150 lbs our site defaults to our fallback (freight) shipping quotes. That's logical, but it also seems to do this when "Product Always Ships in Separate Packaging" option is in place. The scenario:
I have weight and dimensions set. The Product Ships Separate box is checked. Shouldn't it be quoting UPS shipping for two different boxes, and each box has a maximum of 150 lbs (300 lbs maximum for the entire order)?
It seems that the product ships in separate packaging will increase the shipping price, but doesn't increase the shopping cart/UPS maximum weight ceiling per box. We sell car parts, a complete set of brakes is near this threshold.
So again, to summarize:
One box -> Maximum 150 lbs with UPS.
Two Boxes ->Maximum weight should be up to 300 lbs, instead it's limited to only 150 lbs (maximum) to share.
Three boxes -> Maximum weight should be up to 450 lbs, but again, limited to 150 lbs.
Does anyone have experience with this? Any recommendations?
- Heavy Item - 50 lb box = $30.00
- 2 x Heavy Item - 50 lb box x 2 =$60.00
- 4 x Heavy Item - 50 lb box x 4 ---> Should equal $120.00 (200 lbs.), in theory. Instead the customer is quoted our fallback $250.00 freight shipping.
