    Uploading Multiple Product Photos

New to Miva 9. How do we upload a flat file that will have several fullsize photos that are assigned to a certain product? Or can this be done? Right now we are just using the standard thumbnail and image url fields in our flat file.
    Thanks!

Here is how do upload multiple images via the admin:

    http://www.miva.com/videos/store_own...age-picker/150

    http://www.miva.com/videos/store_own...o-products/150

Images can also be imported via a spreadsheet. Here are the steps:
    1. Create multiple image types (main, alt img1, etc)
    2. FTP the images to the server
    3. Import the path to the images using the product import spreadsheet. Use the Image Type Column headers for each image column.

      1. What are the steps that I need to take in Miva so that it will recognize that I have additional column(s) for images when I actually upload the spreadsheet?
      2. Also do I need to make any changes to the "PROD" page in order for it properly display the additional image(s)?

Under Utilities Install the module Product Images Custom Fields. This will allow you to import/export image types.

Then export all products and make sure to include your image types. This will show you the column headers you need to re-import the image paths back into Miva.

          Brennan,
Is this exporting multiple product phtos function still working in the latest version 9.00064? I found the module installed but I can't find anything under utilities that has to do with exporting or importing the images. I have image management install but that doesn't have anything mentioning importing or exporting images. I checked exporting products to a flat file and there is nothing there. I am looking for something that I get into a spreadsheet code and additional image links.
          Thanks,

Once the module is installed, you can export the image path under Data Management -> Export Products to Flat File. In the settings for the export any image types you have setup will appear in the Custom Fields box and you can select them to be included in the export.

ok, I see but we didn't create any types when we added all the extra photos for many products. We just add 5 or 6 photos showing different views, then picked the best one for type = main. All the rest do not have a type. We have several 100 on one site and can't figure out how to get path for them to export so we can add them to our Amazon store other that go through product by product in the catalog. Let's say we call all the extra photos and want to give them a type of "extra". Is there any way to do this without doing it 1 product at a time?

I tried an experiment with a product that has 6 photos. 1 = Main. I tried to add "extra " to the rest but Miva only allows 1 photo to have the type = "extra". So that idea doesn't work. I can now see the type = "extra" in the product export.

Now back to the problem. How can I export the path for each extra image we have to I can add that path to my Amazon import spreadsheet?
              Thanks,

Each image needs to have it's own image type. I tend to use:
                main
                second
                third
                fourth
                fifth
                sixth

                  Leslie,
Thanks. I really hadn't considered making every image another type. I really don't think we should have to do all of this when Miva knows each images link.

When you put a product on Ebay all you have to do is check the box next to every image and Miva transfers all of them to Ebay. Miva has to store the link, we just can't get to it.

We have the same problem with additional images in the Google feed under the new system. Google feed probably is one of the most required feeds necessary from Miva and as far as I know there really aren't very good instructions around on the variations required for special feeds like multiple images and inventory variants. Bill Weiland really did us all a service with his detail instructions. On an individual basis Brennan has been extremely helpful but I have to believe there are a lot of other people out there with similar questions.
                  Thanks,
