I have been getting a lot of requests for a Spanish version of my store. Does Miva have any thing like this built in or is there a module that can do this so i don't have to create a new store in Spanish that i don't speak? Other sites have this option where you can click a link and the whole site translates to another language, this is what I'm wanting to do

ok i actually just got referred to global nimbus from miva that offers this exact service. the issues is that they want $99/month plus $0.01 cents per click on the the translated page. This is exactley what i want but need something cheaper or as a one time fee. Any one else have any leads?

We built a site which is English / French using custom fields and cookies to keep lables in the correct language. Checkit out www.beautyroute.com. But be aware that you need to provide all text in Spanish - I assume you knew that, so just sayingAndreas Toman

That is exactly what im wanting. How extensive of a job is this and also im assuming that if you make a change you need to change it on both language versions? I was hoping there was a module that can just translate everything from the EN site to another language so that if you make a change on the EN site it is reflected on the translated site also.

Most sites that have a link to "translate" the store use a Google "plugin" to accomplish this. However, two caveats: #1 the translation is machine-made so the results are machine like at best. Readable, but only just so. #2 Google uses the term 'plugin' very loosely and its generally a bit of work to get it going. Also, they don't translate the pricing into the native currency.

Can't speak for Andreas, but I would assume his solution wasn't cheap and probably wasn't as 'hands-off' as you seem to want (i.e., you need to get someone who speaks spanish to write the copy). If Global Nimbus truly beyond ROI, you might try implementing the Google solution as I imagine it would be in the hundreds instead of thousands in terms of investment. Then you could see how much potential there is in foreign language sites. However, it might not really be a true gauge of how successful a GOOD translation might be owing to its less than optimal results.
You might get more mileage by just offering currency changes (show prices in their exact amounts and currency). Remember, a lot of the western world posses a rudimentary knowledge of english.

Miva admin cannot be changed to Spanish and magiccurrency by magicmetal (Kent) is a module you can use to show different currencies.
Our solution is actually not expensive but the translations are the cost factor. Google and Global Nimbus provide sub par translations if it is more than a couple words. I do speak a handful of languages and could test it on a couple sites.Andreas Toman

BTW you don't have much text on your site so Google maybe even an option or our solution which would require you to plugin the translations manually and keep them up to date.Andreas Toman
