The Image Machine and Animated GIF's

How does the Image Machine handle animated GIF's? I'm thinking if it has to resize them it's killing them. Has anyone else run into this?

Resizing .gifs in general produces poor quality images. Image Machine is able to handle gifs and it should work, but I'm not sure the image quality you're going to end up with.

Trying to get the additional images in the GIF to display - it seems to only show the first "slide". The full-sized popup image works fine.

If you resize the animated GIF with something like Fireworks that won't break the animation just FTP up new thumb and main images and overwrite the ones created by image machine. I realize if you have alot of products this may not be a long term solution but it works.

I had thought about that, but in the long run it defeats the usage of the Image Machine - which I'm wondering it it might "accidentally" regenerate over the image.
