More on PageSpeed Tools - I keep getting Google suggestions to Compress Java .com/mm5/clientside.mvc with a file name
    for example com/…bc00d9&Module_Code=mvga&Filename=mvga.js

I don't see this kind of a file in the location they reference and i'm not sure we can change it? Can someone advise what to do.
    Thanks,
    Chet Vincentz

I'm going to corner the market on the color Orange. Then, I'll invest a bunch of money on folks to blog about how Orange colored sites are ranked higher by Google...then I'll buy Apple.

While a sucky slow site will never succeed. If you are loading ACTUAL readable content within 2 to three 3 seconds...you're good.

        Hi Bruce,
I read orange is to close to "Flame" as in flame out so I'm going with red as in fast Italian Ferrari! Ok, I was just trying to learn something in an area I'm not versed in. We have been sloppy over the years not sizing photos very well and became bloated so we are doing a review to clean up.

I read an interesting post https://moz.com/blog/how-to-achieve-...peed-test-tool where the guy goes through a long dissertation (actually quite interesting) about how to get 100 and if you read all the comments at the end he admits he hasn't seen much improvement in his SEO ratings. Many others who commented agreed they didn't either.

Some of the improvements come from server improvements which we don't have any ability to change since we are hosted at Miva.
        Thanks,

Well, a fast site has more than just SEO benefits: better user experiance, better conversion, ability to handle more traffic, etc.

But, has I learned many years ago "anything is doable on the net given enough time and enough resources." So its a matter of prioritizing those things that give you the most benefit with the least amount of resources and time.

The basics still hold such as using appropriately sized (compressed and color depth) images for your product. (I.e., most products don't need 16M color depth images), Note loading resources that are not needed or using ton's of plugins instead of spending an extra hour doing it with basic jQuery (or getting someone else to do it). Putting non-essential resources files on deferred or async loading etc.
