FTP broken since yesterday

My complain with FileZilla was the interface. Really awful compared to WS_FTP which I've grown to love(except their support) over the years.) This year in March I purchased their version 12.5.1, now it's outdated and they want me to purchase the latest release without an upgrade price. But I'm going to have trouble getting used to another product.

My usual FTP client is FireFTP, a Firefox extension that's actually modeled after WS_FTP. But it doesn't work on some sites, so I use FIleZilla for those. Yes, the interface is a little clumsy, but it was OK once I got used to it.

I experienced the same issue with FTP connections not working this week.

A little Googling over the error message I saw led me to suspect it was an out of date FTP client not handling updated security policies adequately. I upgraded to the most recent version of CoreFTP (I was using a version that was a bit out of date) and the problem went away.

I've used this software for years as my FTP program. I can recommend it if you're looking for a new free one for Windows.
