Change to URI management from Legacy SEO

Still running Legacy SEO setting on my store and I guess it would be better to change over to URI management.
My current URL structure is awful.
Is this something I could do myself, without screwing up my entire store, or do I need to get professional help ... definitely could use that on myself but that's another story :-)

    Thanks
    Pat

Hi Pat - all depends - you can certainly tackle this yourself if you have a good understanding of URI's and redirects, etc. - you should convert to URI Management - and once done implement full https. Feel free to reach out if you need assistance!

I was scared of the new URI settings and put off messing with it for too long. I finally just decided I was going to do it (in order to convert my site to https) and it literally took 15 minutes using the instructions in Kent's post. You can switch back and forth between URI and legacy with a click of a mouse if you mess something up (I screwed up a product link structure) so there really is not much risk.
