We have been using Payflow Pro on our website for well over 10 years, mainly because the ordering process is more seamless and the customer doesn't have to leave our site to make a CC payment. Chargebacks have always been an issue, and even though we do everything right (use AVS, ship only to authorized address with signature) a customer can still dispute an order and implement a chargeback, which will ALWAYS be found in the customers favor no matter how much proof we have.
Lately, we can't even get the issuing bank phone number for VISA charges to verify name/address because the VISA Merchant Line (1-800-VISA-750) is no longer working.
Thinking about switching over to Paypal Express Checkout just because it seems like as long as we ship to the address approved by Paypal we'll be protected for ALL of our orders and not just Paypal orders. Does anyone think switching over to Paypal Express Checkout would be a step backwards as far as completing sales? I'm just afraid that sending people over to Paypal to enter their payment info might cause some people to not complete their order. Would love to get some feedback on this...
