    9.07 update fail - MailChimp

FAIL - Miva Merchant 9.7 is not compatible with older versions of the MailChimp module.
What's the best course of action? Uninstall the MailChimp module?

I went into the ITEM [Mailchimp] and removed all the pages assigned to that item, then removed the item itself. I then went into Utilities, add/remove modules, and removed the module. After that I deleted it from Modules and was able to update with no issues.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, you'll need to uninstall the old mailchimp module prior to upgrading to 9.7. We will be posting detailed instructions shortly on how to uninstall the old module shortly.

The only manual thing you'll need to do is re-add the newsletter item to where you want the newsletter signup box to appear and re-style it if needed

Kinda figure those would be the steps - did I miss the heads up about this one?

Isn't that a bit backwards - posting the instructions after the release? Store owners are pushing that button. On the bright side, they are at least asking me to fix it

Am I missing a step somewhere? I have a couple dev sites i just can't get past this...

Removed tokens from pages, unassigned item from pages, deleted item, uninstalled module > update fails. Marked module inactive > update fails...

I opened tickets for both sites as it seems out of the ordinary...

GOTCHA! Delete module is under the More ... menu when editing the module. LOL!!!

I did the same thing, forgot to delete the module itself.

I deactivated the module. The box on check out "Sign up" dissapeared - nice. Other forms I use for Sign up got disabled. But here I run into problems:
I cannot remove the module. "Sign up is inactive - cannot be uninstalled". Url to help doesnt´t work Miva Docs: How to Guides | Uninstall Mail Chimp. I really want to try the upgrade in my test Environment but I cannot uninstall the module. Help needed! André aka Protos.

Have you gone to each of the pages that the MailChimp Item has been assigned to and deactivated that item? You should also remove the old MailChimp token from the page too. Also make sure you remove the old token from any other locations. You will also need to delete the old MailChimp Item itself. Basically, you need to remove all traces of the old MailChimp module before you can deleted it.

Thanks lesliekirk . Sounds like a lot of work. Unsure if my customer wants to pay for this. We bought a newsletter pop-up from MIVA design team. So we have a lot of code and functions and forms that uses APi version 5. Guess I will pass on this upgrade.

About 15 minutes with out any customizations.

Ohhhh - newsletter pop-up - that would be an awesome module feature. I have a number of requests for something like that.

Leslie, I have not tried it yet but the new Mailchimp integration has a pop-up form option. Log in to Mailchimp and click on "connected sites' you will see it there.

SMH - you are correct, I keep forgetting about all the stuff on the MailChimp side. I guess I was thinking of something configured in the store admin.

Hi again. Thanks for the token tip. I forgot about assigned items. Had a copuple of pages and <mvt:item name="mailchimp" param="headtag" />
I have my newsletter Popup in the ReadyTheme admin interface. Script and objects that I can activate - deactivate. Bought it from MIVA-Design.
You can try it here - it has the style and look of our ReadyTheme http://www.cigarrummet.com/ I can manage how often it fires and stuff like that.
                            Thanks for your help... André
