Just an update - we ran into a similar issue with a different site. The ga_transaction item was assigned to the invoice page and present in the page template, but wasn't rendering any of the transaciton-specific JavaScript to pass the transaction data to Analytics. In our case, the tracking code template settings were currently in advanced mode (the template code was showing, but basic checkbox settings were not.) We changed it back to "point and click" mode. Doing so then revealed a number of settings that were hidden in "advanced" mode. Once of those settings (track ecommerce transacitons) was unchecked. We checked it, updated the settings, and then switched back to "advanced" mode and it fixed it.

It would appear that certain important settings are hidden and unable to be modified when in advanced mode.

Thank you very much for this information. I am going to give this a shot and hopefully it will work.
