How do I get a file on an FTP server with SMT?

What's the best way to get a file off an FTP server using Miva SMT?

I'm tempted to use Miva's wget function but the docs are not obvious on how to pass in a custom port, username and password.

Bruce - PhosphorMedia do you have code for using mvcall with my crazy FTP request? Or is that a suggestion, cause I don't see how mvcall can do the FTP with custom port and user auth.

I'm pretty sure that HTTP and FTP are very different protocols. I think MvCALL and mvt:call are limited to HTTP. But you can use HTTP to call a PHP script, and PHP has FTP functions built-in; so it shouldn't be too difficult to hook up.

Miva's wget functions don't work for this. I've tried. There is no way to pass in WGET parameters, which is strange, or there is and the Miva WGET docs are too limited.

I'll probably end up doing as usual and not using MVT functions instead use PHP and it's vast assortment of libraries and call in the result with MVCALL.

I think I'm just confusing everyone. I don't post easy stuff here. I know stuff ;)

Yea, sorry...the mvcall method would be to call a php script with curl or equivalent.
