What causes clientside.mvc?.........runtime_ui.js to load on CTGY page

Just wanted to know what would cause the mydomain/mm5/clientside.mvc?T=07b56b0e&M=1&Filename=runtime_ui. js to load.

The JavaScript code in that file seems to only be related to facets which we do not use.

Does it have something to do with the new combined JS and CSS resources for the Suivant readytheme (that is the readytheme we use).

I had our CTGY page to a point of not loading any of the unnecessary clientside.mvc files since our site doesn't use those functionalities.

Wish I could pin point when it started loading on the CTGY pages again but I didn't notice it until last week while setting up cloudflare on our site.

I can tell you it does not load on our SFNT page and that page uses the same combined JS and CSS resource files as our CTGY page.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

the clientside files are loading by miva when (i think) the 'Head' tag is called. You can't change it.

They're loaded with the 'head tag custom' item. There is a way around it but it's not fun - you have to write a module that replaces head tag custom with your own item that does the same thing, then go to every page on your site and replace the call to head tag custom with a call to your own item
Looking for work as of March 2024! I've been a web developer for going on 20 years, with most of that time spent on Miva sites.

Are you using a ReadyTheme? Normally those calls are a result of ReadyTheme tie-in to JS code that may be needed for certain features.

          Yeah I understand that.

Its just weird that I had the CTGY template to a point of not having those files load.

It used to load a few more much like the current Suivant demo does now:

          clientside.mvc?T=5b821eff&Filename=ajax.js
          clientside.mvc?T=5b821eff&Filename=runtime.js
          clientside.mvc?T=5b821eff&Filename=runtime_ui.js
          clientside.mvc?T=5b821eff&Module_Code=cmp-cssui-searchfield&Filename=runtime.js

But I was able to have them not be injected into the page template by removing certain features that we either did not want or did not need.

EX: Quick View and the cssui searchfield.

I'll have to do some more thinking and digging into what I've recently changed on that template or any global items that template uses.

          Thanks for the responses.

If you open a ticket, our technical assistance center staff can probably interact with our software developers to get you an exact list of JS "files" served by clientside.mvc that will load based on different configurations of Suivant / Miva Merchant. It is serving content internal to the binary and not real files like what you'd find under Javascript resources.

That is a great idea. Thank you for the tip. I will give that a try this afternoon.
