Fedex freight module doesn't allow for residential vs commercial rate calculations. Published residential surcharge from Fedex freight is $144 so missing this is clearly material. Any word on when this module will update?

There might be something wrong with your configuration or account. We just ran a test and was able to see a difference between residential and commercial freight rates. Can you submit a ticket to our support team so we can take a look? More than likely we'll log the call to and response from FedEx to your store to see what could be going on. How does the API know the address is residential? Does Fedex know each address which is residential...and then replies accordingly? Or is a residential flag required when sending the request?Comment

Hi Dutch,
The API uses a residential flag with a 1 or 0 value. That is set depending on the customer fields settings in admin.

By default, the setting is set to “Automatic” which will use the customer company field to determine what that field should be. (a value in the company field will cause the system to assume it is not a residence). However with the setting you can make it a prompt which will add a “Address is a Residence” checkbox to the address fields at checkout.
