Is it possible to merge order?

Is it possible to merge orders? We often have customers that make multiple purchases the same day.

IMO, it's possible. It would NOT be trivial module customization, however.

You can sort-of do it manually on the admin pages, by adding items to one order and deleting them from another, effectively moving items from the original order to a different one. But why do you want to do this?

Often times customers place more than one order within 24 hours and sometimes before we can ship them. We had a case today wherein we shipped ten orders to that same person.

Maybe a back office system might be able to take care of this kind of order management?

I can provide a module that will find customers who have more than one not-shipped order, and flag them in batch reports or notification emails. It may even be possible to edit the OrderShipment database table, so that all the customers' items are assigned to one shipment, although they still show up as separate orders. Thanks Kent, that sounds very interesting. We are had started working on a similar batch report export and Excel custom statement template solution that we might be able to live with. Though it might require requires a few extra steps to execute. I will let you know if it does not work out.
