    Shipping Labels

I am trying to understand the shipping options in Miva.

With Miva only (no additional modules or service), can shipping labels and packing lists be printed?

What do the majority of store owners use to print labels, and ship products when an additional service is being used?

    Thanks for any input.

We use Shipworks, and previous Shipstation. I believe you can use Miva Print Q and their built in items to buy and print postage directly, but I haven't tried that.

You buy postage via Endicia module, print the label in Admin and send it to the Miva Print Q.

It's really slick for smaller volume shops, but it doesn't support batching of label printing (at this point), so for larger volume stores, things like ShipStaion or Shipworks or your ERP system etc... are better choices.

No, the labels are how they come from Endicia.

Miva PrintQ is simply a distributed printer "driver/spooler" so you can have multiple label printers in multiple locations, create the label in Admin using UPS, FedEx or Endicia and then choose which printer you want to send things too (for example different warehouses or even different printers within one large warehouse).
          Thanks,

A final (I hope) question on this - can you set up all 3 carriers in Miva, and choose which to use for each order/shipment?

Yes you can (4 if you count CanadaPost), Endicia is the only way to add actual paid postage (as in USPS) on a label via Miva
              Thanks,

Thanks - can you clarify - does printing UPS or FedEx not print paid postage?

Yes UPS and FedEx will both bill the label to your respective accounts (they don't refer to it as postage). It's confusing, because USPS has labels without actually allowing you to buy postage or you can use the Endicia module to print labels that allow you to ship via USPS and includes billing your Endicia account for the postage.

                  Hope that helps.
                  Thanks,
