Using SVG images with the Image Machine

That would be a use case that differs from why I suggested Cloudflare, so they would not be of help in this scenario. I'd make sure SVG image support is in the feature request thread with an explanation of why it's desired (something other than optimized size in this case).Originally posted by lesliekirk View Post
The goal is to provide a widely accepted image type that is good for line drawings (among other things). The use of a CDN such as Cloudflare has been discussed but the store owner is set on using SVG (at this time).
I will pass your suggestion along to the store owner.

That should not be done. That defeats newer features such as image reference counts, the directory hashing for performance, etc.Originally posted by lesliekirk View Post
It's not included, but you can request that it be added. It can't be used with the Image Machine, but you can (once you have the upload type added) upload via the legacy upload fields.

If the goal is simply higher quality for a lower size, you could use Cloudflare which will optimize the images into lossless or lossy WebP format on the fly, even in their Pro plan.

I don't think those were ever listed as being able to be uploaded. Here's what is listed in the reference documents: The supported image upload types are: gif, jpg, jpeg, jpe, xbm, png, pdf
