    Installing/Update CyberSource Keys

    What is needed from the site owner to be able to update the CyberSource security keys?

    Seriously, isn't this something a host should be able to do? The instructions look like something any webhost should be able to do

    I think it's time to make the "strong" suggestion to switch hosts....

    There is a button on the CyberSource payment module screen to "generate keys"... Click it. Done. No need to even involve the host.

    Worst we've seen is when the client clicked the button multiple times and the keys got out of sync with what Cybersource had on their end. In that case the fix was also simple - call Cybersource and while with them on the phone, have them clear the keys on their end, then have the Miva client click the Generate button just ONCE, so that the store and Cybersource have matching keys.

      Then something isn't right. Clicking the button generates an message:

      Something about your encryption credentials is either invalid or missing: cannot locate signer id, merchant may not have access to the cybersource system
      Also why would CyberSource send the keys to the client along with instructions on how to replace them?

        In that case, have the host verify the configuration on the site.

        As for that last question - you can always install those keys using a number of diggerent methods - including manually by using the keys they emailed the client, or automatically by using the button on the module config page. Try replacing them manually in the mivadata directory and see if that works.

          Will give the manual replacement method a shot, didn't know those files resided in the mivadata directory, that's a big help.

          I'm not seeing where to update them via the module - as in no place to upload the files sent to the site owner.

              Here is a link to information on how to generate the new Keys. It is pretty simple to do using the eCert program.

                Thanks Rick. I had the keys, just not the location where to put them. I did FTP them and was able to click the update button in the module without any warnings.

                My thinking is that a Miva Merchant savvy host should have been able to assist with this. Thank goodness for the ones that helped out here!

                    The specific steps to re-generate transaction security keys in the CyberSource test environment depend upon the specific Connection Method used by your payment application. Refer to the following document for instructions for each connection method.
