Are you using faceted search to refine the search?

What do you perceive is a problem with your current site search?

      Hello Mr. Weiland,

No, we don't want faceted search. Your module is great, is works as described.

I'm looking for something that is smart & intuitive, that can create variations of search term. For example if I search for a product, such as an HRC 2 Rated Flame Resistant Shirt. If I enter, HRC 2 Shirt as the search term, you get one result. If I enter HRC 2 shirts, you get different results (due to the different in shirt and shirts), Then add the fact that if I enter HRC2 and not HRC 2, one gets results and the other does not.

My post was our first attempt at getting information. To see if what we need is already available out in the world, or if we have to have something custom written, or if we have to enter thousands of variations of term into custom fields for powersearch. Just trying to get some feedback,

Again, I apologize, I did not meant to come across as not liking your product, I think its great, we use a lot of your modules, just wanted to know if there was something new or different.

The solution with power search, as you identified, would be to use a custom field with common misspellings or other ways to search for the product. If you are using the FULLTEXT search in power search, it may have some of the enhancements. The fuzzy search in power search may also help find similar spellings so if they don't get any, it may list alternates.

Safety ratings in your store may be something that a custom field should contain. Maybe even as a facet capability.
