MivaPay Group Payment Card Types into Single Payment Method

I have checked the "Group Payment Card Types into Single Payment Method with Description:" and gave it the label requested by the store owner. I have completed the Payment Card Types Linked Payment Methods and linked the cards. When I go to checkout the grouped name appears AND the cards are still listed out. What am I doing wrong?

lesliekirk You must also update the original payment methods to not show.

This is for Excluding Non-MivaPay Card Types - these cards are to be included in MivaPay...

lesliekirk If you have connected Credit Cards to MivaPay there will be two versions of the payment method, one MivaPay method and the default method.

In the example image above you will see that there are two methods for Visa. One is connected to Braintree and the second is connected to a Payment Card. You will need to exclude the Braintree method so that only the MivaPay method will appear.

That makes sense! I see it now. I'll have to wait until the store owner resolves issues with the gateway rejecting the payment.

Nick - I have another question - can a payment method be used "outside" of MivaPay? When I was trying to setup/test MivaPay with the new gateway I left the old payment methods in place (and did not map them in MivaPay). The store owner reported that even the old payment methods didn't work. Again, did I do something wrong (other than "assuming" they should have still worked)?

I am not sure that I am following.

If the payment gateway was setup correctly then the payment method will work regardless of being linked to a MivaPay Payment Card.

If a payment method is linked to a MivaPay Payment Card then it will appear twice and both will work (assuming MivaPay and the gateway are setup correctly).

When testing I left the old payment method (Simple Validation) in place alongside trying to test the new payment gateway Authorize.net. The store owner reported that the old method stopped working when MivaPay was active. I didn't personally test it but he reported that the Simple Validation stopped working (which I thought was odd). I had not mapped it to MivaPay (just the new gateway) but he said it stopped working.I had to deactivate MivaPay and exclude the cards being accepted by the new gateway. I did have both the old payment method and the new one displaying on the OSEL screen so either one could be selected but again, the store owner reported that the old method was not working. It started working again when I deactivated MivaPay.

lesliekirk since the new payment method was installed it have been possible she selected the new one and it was not working, I would test it yourself to confirm. There is no reason that Simple Validation would not work, if set up correctly, when another gateway is installed or MivaPay is activated.
