    Google Checkout problems?

    Hi,
A client using Google Checkout on V4 is experiecning consistent problems since this morning March 1.

Orders are processed fine, but when Google tries to post back to Merchant, it erros on a 500 error, and Merchant does NOT get the order.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? No changes have been made to any aspect of Google or Merchant.

    Re: Google Checkout problems?

I have heard from one Merchant 4 user reporting Google is returning 500 errors starting last night and continuing today. Error logs so a premature end of header from googles IP#.

    Thank you,

      Re: Google Checkout problems?

I am now aware of at least 9 sites that this is happening on.

If you use Google Checkout - check your orders INSIDE Google, as MIVA Merchant may not be getting them - meaning, empty carts and no merchant or customer emails, and out of whack order numbers once this is fixed.

It does NOT appear to be a Merchant problem.

        Re: Google Checkout problems?

With the help of Scott from Sebenza, we've determined the problem is that Google has changed their content-type header to something other than application/x-www-form-urlencoded. Miva Empresa has a bug where it will crash if it receives a POST request using any content type other than application/x-www-form-urlencoded and our theory is that Google changed to a different content type in their notification requests last night, breaking what should be all users of Google Checkout.

Scott is attempting to get in touch with Google as are we but they're not the easiest company to reach for one that's worth $137 billion.

          Re: Google Checkout problems?

Just heard that Google hopes to have a fix out for this possibly later this evening. The fact that they're even looking at it requires thanks be given to http://www.sebenza.com, normally 'the Google' cannot be communicated with but Scott over there found someone who would look at the issue.

I haven't spoken with Scott yet today but the fixed code was in their test environment last night late so hopefully this means it all checked out and they've deployed it.

The Google update should be in production now.

We're still having reports of the same issue persisting.

                    Re: Google Checkout problems?

Are you able to tell if its for new orders or maybe orders that were done while the Google problem existed? The reason I ask is that I believe Google will continue to post to the connector script with the same headers as the original order... so in that case it would still fail.
