Miva Merchant 5, Google Checkout, Shipping Woes

How do you handle shipping with Miva Merchant 5 if you are using Google Checkout?

Re: Google Checkout & Shipping Woes

    After looking at this thread...

I guess Google Checkout doesn't integrate well into shipping methods.

Upon further Investigation, and to be fair, it looks like Google Checkout doesn't integrate with non-default shipping modules (modules that don't come with miva).

Google Checkout doesn't integrate well at all...

Again, no fault to the module author - but Google's unwillingness to follow MIVA's API and unwilling to bend from their requirements.

The problem is Google only allows 3 seconds, From google:

"In order to maintain a high-quality user experience, Google Checkout sets
aside 3 seconds for your service to perform its computations and send the
          response."

3 Seconds is not long enough time if your store has more then 1 shipping method.

From the module author: "About the only fix is for Google to remove the 3 second window."

          Thank you,

Ouch. That must be why on one site, sometimes you can click through to Google Checkout and everything works fine, then the next time it doesn't work.

Also, one of my clients lost a very substantial order because Google doesn't accept payments from those in Israel!

              Not good.

I hope this gets resolved, the one order I had with it the customer was understanding I still gave a 50% discount on shipping, it makes sense as I tried it myself and a, of my options showed up but no $ amounts just need a few more seconds, well it is disabled and badges removed for now
