    Best Reviews Modules

I know this subject has come up before and I Googled the heck out of it but I can't seem to find any conversations of the best reviews modules for a Miva store. I have store owner would like to update from the free Product Reviews by Tess. The "logical" choice would be to upgrade to Miva's Ratings & Reviews. I know there is also Easy Review by Phosphor Media but what else is out there? Any thoughts on Shopper Approved? What else is out there that works nicely with Miva?

There's a 3rd-party service called Yotpo that I've installed for a client. I don't know what it costs, but it seems to work well. The setup was pretty easy, and their support people replied to my questions promptly.

I've used the Phosphor Media reviews module for many years and have been happy with it. I like that it has a follow up email capability which I make use of. Take a look at my store if you want to see how it's implemented.

Miva's solution does not have a "... follow up email capability ..." feature?

How do you leverage this feature, with a coupon, etc.?

I've done an analysis that shows that if a customer is going to reorder the reorder will happen, on average, 42 days after their purchase.

I use the module to send the follow up email at 42 days post purchase to thank the customer for the order, ask them to provide a review of the product purchased, and then (using Emporium Plus Toolkit) I include links to three other products that customers who bought their product also bought.

This email is intended to ask for a review, but it also prompts the customer to reorder at the point at which most reorders happen. I have codes embedded in the email template that allow me to view clicks and purchases that result from the email to evaluate performance. I don't provide a coupon at this point because my analysis shows I don't need to discount to incent reorders until much more time has passed.

Do you have any code you can post?

There's not really any code that would be that useful for me to share, I think.

The module allows you to define how many days post sale to send the email. Set that to whatever you choose. And then the module provides an html template for the contents of the email. I built out the template to match the other emails I send from the store and I added campaign parameters to the links in the email so I can track them in Google Analytics.

You can use this tool to build you own campaign links for tracking:

Since Easy Review isn't going to be supported going forward we are looking into other product review solutions as well. lesliekirk Why did you want to upgrade from Product Reviews by Tess? What feature doesn't it have? We are considering Miva's Ratings & Reviews - anyone have experience with it - Pros? Cons? Thanks.

Is Easy Review really not going to be supported in the future?

Are you referring to the module by PhosphorMedia ( Bruce - PhosphorMedia Gordon - Phosphor Media ) ?

Yes, I was referring to the one by Phosphor. I had received an email about it so I believe so unless I misunderstood it.

Yes, sad to say. But after 20 something years we are getting out of the miva module business. Its just not a supportable business model when so many "free" options are available and promoted.

That being said, we are now offerring them license free at:

                        https://www.phosphormedia.com/mm5/me...=about-updates

IMPORTANT: If you are a current user, you MUST download the latest version (which has--among other bug updates--its license system removed). We plan to turn off the licensing server on Oct. 1st 2022.

PLEASE NOTE: these are free and without support. If you need assistance with integration (though untypical) or custom features, we'd be happy to provide this assistance as a service.

Got it. Glad I stumbled upon this thread.

That's unfortunate but certainly understandable. Glad we can keep using it for now even without support, but I suppose I'll have to look into other options incase a Miva update breaks it.

Thank you for the great module and support for the last 2 years.
