    Please Stop

Please stop popping up "Do you know...." messages. Saw a new 'format' one today. I get it, you want people to know about new features...and more importantly perhaps, everyone else is doing this.

Its...ok, a little frank talk here...stupid. I get it, you are just doing what every other GD POS software is doing. Its still stupid. I'm trying to get something done. I don't have time to get side tracked and wander down the path of learning stuff about the software.

How about instead, invest that time in making better docs.

...oh, and "get off my lawn!"

Have you seen the new docs.miva.com? Also no one reads docs, that's why we have to use pop ups. All that said though, it's a fine balance, so they won't stop, but they shouldn't be overly annoying either.

Saw my first popup today. Kind of liked it. Took me a minute to figure out where it came from. Is there a user way to "control" how often they are seen? Just wondering. I sure hate to have to smack the stew out of Bruce. Guess he's become a crotchety old man...

There's a lot of logic behind these. They know who is logged in and will typically be configured to only show once per user.

But, my 2 cents is that sometimes I like to look ahead at things I need to know, before I need to know them, so I need the docs online. When I am working on something I don't want to have to stop to learn it because a popup told me to learn it while I am in the process of implementing it. I want to learn it prior and then implement it. So popups aren't my thing either. I much prefer the docs.miva.com. But, no worries, I know how to totally ignore popups. As with Bruce, they annoy me and I don't want distractions when I am working, so being able to control them like Leslie said would be a nice perk.

They're driven by a product we license called Pendo.
                Thanks,

So, we can't turn them off or on or control them otherwise, correct?

Correct, they're entirely controlled via our Pendo Admin which is tied to Salesforce and people's license keys, etc...

For example there was one this week about My.miva contact updates, if we see someone who's not tied to a my.miva account and therefore might get stuck when trying to open a ticket (which is a common cause of a low customer sat score) then we might prompt them to update that info (and hopefully eliminate a future pain point.
                      Thanks,

Got the one to update the my.miva account. I was in a client's site. I need a simple explanation for them to add me to their my.miva account. The most low tech way would be very helpful.

here's the problem...besides me being a grumpy old man. 90% of the time (99.9% for me) folks are trying to get things done. they don't have time to read something about a new feature. meanwhile, yes...i don't learn about new features.

perhaps also try sending a nice email with "Cool Stuff You May Not Know". (and maybe one for Store owners and one for Developer types). I'm much more likely to at least add this to my reading list than interrupt my workflow.

would be great if you could track usage.

well, apparently they added a "do not ignore the grumpy old man" filter as I haven't seen one since i posted this :)

This would also totally work for me. I'll get to it when I can, just can't at the moment of popup.

Then, close the popup, and lose it. Email is as long as I want.
