I'm asking this for those who currently have MivaPay and want to know what happens to the MivaPay they are currently using? I've read through what the "new" MivaPay is, and I can already feel the confused questions coming. Can you please post something that clarifies all this?

Hey Leslie, here's some clarity.
If we were to go back in time, we would have called the OLD MivaPay something else :). We've recently quietly renamed that to be MivaPay Vault - which is really a better name for it. It's more of a wallet / vault for payment tokens and part of the Miva middlewear stack around payments, used by most of our supported payment processors.
So, with that in mind, consider the new MivaPay to be a new payment processor.. which like the others, leverages uses MivaPay Vault under the hood as part of the stack, for subscriptions etc. The new MivaPay is Powered by PayPal but using a new platform that they have recently released. We've implemented it for a number of reasons, but importantly, it will be easier and faster for us to add additional payment services as they become available within the PayPal offering.

Just to be clear: are you saying that "MivaPay" now includes gateway functionality? So users can get rid of Authorize.net, Braintree, etc., and process their payments through Miva's own services?Kent Multer

Hi Kent,
Yes that is correct. MivaPay is a new Miva branded payment solution (built on PayPal). So if you choose to use it, it replaces Auth.net or whatever payment processor being used today

Hey Keifer Hunniford, I like "MivaPay Vault" (or even MivaPay Wallet) - don't be so quiet about it. Let store owners know what will become of the "old" MivaPay and how it will impact them.Originally posted by Keifer Hunniford View PostHey Leslie, here's some clarity.

If possible, let store owners know ahead of time next time so they are not confused by any upcoming releases.
I think the MivaPay Powered by PayPal alliance is a huge plus!Leslie Kirk

Interesting. So where would one perform typical online AuthorizeNet activities?Originally posted by Brennan View PostHi Kent,

If I understand your question, it sounds like you might be concerned as to where you would handle your (current) Authorize.Net transactions?Originally posted by William Davis View Post

Thanks Rick. And "... PayPal dashboard ..." is via PayPal.com, correct?Originally posted by Rick Wilson View PostYou'd leave your current Auth.net account open as long as you need to process refunds, etc... (usually up to 6 months) and keep handling them the same way you do today.Thank you, Bill Davis

It's served up by PayPal and currently yes via PayPal.com but this new architecture allows us to move features into core Miva over time making it more seamless. There are different features and offers available from MivaPay then just going through PayPal.com.
Today you'll link your PayPal account to your MivaPay account and see a co-branded experience and like I said over time we plan to move more and more of that into the core Admin.

I'm confused (what's new about that?). What if William Davis doesn't want to use MivaPay? Are all other payment gateways going away? PayPal Complete? Any other payment gateways that I have missed? What happens to all of them?Originally posted by Rick Wilson View PostYou'd leave your current Auth.net account open as long as you need to process refunds, etc...
