    Miva Secure Admin Login

I've had great issues with my Storeman5 since I ran the most recent Miva update that automatically logs you in to admine under Secure. So now when my Storeman5 connects to the site it forces it to log in under secure and it's causing major problems. It's slowed my download to 5 secs per record, and it connects but will not upload AT ALL. Is there anyway to get logged in to Admin without the damn secure login? And WHY DID THEY CHANGE IT?!?!?! Shouldnt that be my decision?

They changed it because PCI compliance requires the software to force the admin to be secure, so they had no choice. Is your admin interface noticeably slower in secure mode then it had been in insecure mode before it became forced?

No the interface is fine, but the connection between an unsecure and secured connection is Greatly Differnt. It always has been. So now that it is being forced to log in Securely the connection speeds between my Storeman5 interface and my website is absolutely impossible to deal with. It's absolutely rediculous not to be able to have both a secure and unsecured connection.

Why are the dumbest people always the ones allowed to make the rules?

Worst yet is that Ive emailed Storeman5 people 3 times since last week and still no reply.

Did you open a support ticket via StoreMan as outlined? I got unexpected help over the weekend with my SM issues after sending a support request via their support channels.

Has your host looked into why the secure interface is slower than insecure? SSL adds a little bit of overhead but it should really not differ by much at all.

Secure has always been slower then non-secure, thats why Storeman always gave you the option of how you wanted to connect.

Maybe with using the interface it doesnt make much of a difference, but when moving data back and forth its extremely differnt. Someone from Phosphor Media could better explain it. But it has always been that way. As for my host, originally I had some disconnecting problems do to their server not liking the long connect with storeman5 on my computer. But they fixed that issue. Without Storeman5 I do not think I can administrate all the products and catagories.

You sent your FIRST message on Thursday Afternoon. In which, you stated, you would not be "back in the office" until Monday. So, you ticket went to a low priority.

You should receive a response today.

Ok for the record the people at Phosphor were able to find the multiple issues that explained my problems. Thank you guys.

There also must of been an error in profile data, because once I created a new profile I was able to log in Storeman5 through the secure address and now I can upload and download. Working with my host to increase my transfer speeds though the secure connection. And getting our own SSL Certificate.

Can any buddy tell me what their average download speeds are from their Mivasite to Storeman5 using the secure connection? I need to show my Host the difference in speeds. I'm still stuck at about 1 record every 5 seconds. But at least I can upload changes.

And thats under secure connection correct?

My biggest problem is that my Host doesn't know the Storeman5 program, and I feel like this is like two guys playing table tennis with a cracked ball, and I'm the cracked ball.

There is usually little difference between secure and un-secure as the amount of data is minimal. I just ran about four sites (granted, they are not as large as yours) and the average record time is .205 for unsecure, and .206 for secure. (BTW: these where two hostasuarus sites, one dotcomhost site, and hosting4less site.)

I know that even at the fastest speed my site will take a couple of days to download..but at 5 sec a record it would take weeks. Would having my own SSL certificate make that big of a difference? It's hard to comprehend that.

I know the servers they have are very powerful I'm just trying to figure out what could be the issue in between.

One thing that keeps me from understanding the slow download speeds is that my upload speeds are pretty damn good.

Out of curiosity, isn't store man run from a local desktop to the server? Could it just be that his connection to the Internet is slow?
