This is a popular one on the wish list thread, so it is already on our list. Stay tuned for when we publish the final list with priorities and expected implementation dates.

      Re: MM5.5 Features List

Is there any chance of a single screen for product input?

Drop down menu to assign a category, adding the attributes etc. And, if we do get a single screen product input, is it possible to make this available to employees to enter products without letting them have access to the rest of the program?

      Thank you.

The single screen is a good idea. as to employee access, you can do that with some extent using groups.

          Re: MM5.5 Features List

I'm using groups to allow employees access. Just figured it would be easier on 1 screen.

The ability to copy a product would be awesome. Another time saving feature, as well as being able to easily sort categories and products.

Regarding flat file export, it would be nice to have the ability to include sub categories when exporting a specific category. That would be a huge time saver (for me).

          Thank you for listening.

How about the ability to estabilish DOCTYPE, etc...? I don't know if that is currently possible or not.
            Thank you, Bill Davis

that is great to hear, that will change my entire store and really improve things for my customers. I wish this option could be added now!

                Re: MM5.5 Features List

Please consider engineering this to be able to replicate SFL links style in the original Copernicus Module on 4.xx stores.
We already have had to have a fellow help us out with some special hacking to make the replication on our 5.xx dev site.
I think you have James Harrell, one of the original devs over there now to more easily be able to do that build that into your new realease. (no excuse :D)

It is a very major issue in a 4.xx to 5.xx migration.

Ideally as I see it the best thing would be able to let Cat and Prods to be allowed to be set to whatever new default seo (and email friendly) url strings on an individual basis through admin screen entry or bulk import/update for that config value. I imagine that extra feature in case the magic required for 4.xx SFL style replication caused a performance penalty. A store could then migrate slowly a few section at a time to minimize possible search engine impacts while not worrying about dealing with a bunch of 301's and what not.

                2. The SEO functionality we're going to be adding is as follows (while the plan is for this to make it at the conference, it is possible this will slip past the conference):

                • Static url's

                  That's a great idea.
They probably just need to have the algo for 3rd party mods to still be able to create link to it's added feature or simply and a new table row for the screen at the bottom to hold the 3rd party form/content.
                  Thanks,

                    Re: MM5.5 Features List

I believe this was already mentioned... but a total revamp of the "product list" would be welcomed.

As it stands it is frankly useless. Even a display in alphabetical order (as implemented in this forum members list) would be a God send.

Practical example. An online specialised bookstore were customers usually know the book titles they are looking for, and henceforth don't require to browse by categories or indeed go through repeated searches to find the items they are looking for.

In the interim wouldn't just creating a category with all the books loaded in desired order would do the same ?

Indeed and by using the Category Template Manager of Sebenza you can even have an Alpha-Listing on the fly and more but as it stands the standard out-of-the box product list feature is not very useful

Three new features in the wish-list

                          1. In the Admin interface to have a Shortcut or Bookmark features that would allow us to go directly to the items (and/or modules) which are used regularly (e.g. Order Status, Order Processing, etc.).

                          2. Not to have Check and C.O.D. hard-coded so they can be "translated"

                          3. The possibility to select the payment that appears first in the drop-up menu

I think a nice feature to have is the ability for a customer to sign-in to their account using an email address.

We think so too. So we implemented that when we opened our MM4 store a few years ago. www.CubaCollectibles.com

Can't say though that it did not cause a few problems. The biggest one that we recall now, is that a store field validation setting was not allowing customers to enter their e-mail address -so we disabled it.

                                Is it February Yet?

                                :)

The only thing (yeah right) on my request for features and I don't think this should really be a big deal is to NOT have to click the "Go" button when searching for a product. I hate being int he admin and trying to lookup something (product, customer, etc) and having to "click" a button to have it search. How about setting focus on the submit button whatever it may be so a simple nice and easy <enter> on the keyboard does the trick?

                                Please? Pretty Please?

Besides that just hurry up with the calendar and make it Feb - I need some of those new unlisted features! (I think)

Hope everyone is having a nice and BUSY Holiday!
