but I also want to easily know what's there.

With 3000 base products and 50% of them having three or four options (or more) there is no way to have the attributes and options memorized for each one.

An easier way to look them up is very necessary.

** plus anyone who imports into an order processing system, will need to have exact attribute and option names. Almost right doesn't cut it.

I agree 100%, we'll figure that out. I was just wondering if you wanted that and the flexibility to add new ones on the fly?

Flexibility to add options on the fly is nice, but it would need to work in a way that doesn't get confused with the normal way to access. I don't want to worry about typos like "BLEU" when I mean "BLUE". "BLUE" is in inventory and would need to be decremented, but if "BLEU" doesn't give any warnings, I wouldn't see my mistake.

Also, when I'm taking a phone order, I don't want to have to look up every product in admin (I'd have to run two instances of admin then) just to see if an attribute is out of stock or not. I think kayak's idea of another popup window for selecting options would be the best way to handle this. 90% of the time (in our store anyways) we wouldn't be overriding options.

I have installed beta 1-3 on our test site which has 3 sub stores, on all of the stores the orders do not show up however they do show under the Legacy order processing.

If I click the 'New Order' button nothing happens but a zero value order shows up the legacy order processing also new orders only show under the Legacy order processing

Is there something I have to do to make the new order processing system work

All the links in that post seem to go to the same page on a blog may be I am being a bit thick, bit I cant see the tutorials mention

When I log into the demo store http://store.yellowtee.com/mm5/admin.mvc and click on Manage Orders I see a list of orders as I would expect but on our site I do not see any orders, yet the orders show up under Legacy.

Also on your demo store, I can create a new order but on our store clicking the 'New order' button does nothing (except create a zero valued order which can only be seen under the Legacy Order Processing)

Yes, I saw that with the tutorial links to. I emailed the webmaster for the tutorials to get that fixed. I'll reply as soon as they're fixed.

Ok you may have had a bad install. Before you have the dev site restored from a backup I would like to take a look. Please fill out this form:

Firstly, I appreciate your great work in this new release.

I am getting the following error when I run Design-Your-Look wizard.

Runtime error in /merchant2/5.00/modules/wizard/uiwizard.mvc @ [00000009:0000004c]: Line 90: MvDO: Unable to find function 'Module_Is_Wizardable'

The wizards not working is a known bug right now, I'm not sure the Wizards will survive into the final release.

Naming variables referring customer address,

I noticed Wombat use 'ShipAddress1' & 'BillAddress1' instead of 'ShipAddress' & 'BillAddress' respectively in some modules, which leads to compatiblity problem when using some custom modules.

How about dropping '1' from those variable names.

Just a thought.
